Staff Academy lesson 4 of 12
Run a complete trial-class handoff
Connect front desk, instructor, visitor, and post-class follow-up so context does not disappear between roles.
Learning objective
The instructor knows the visitor’s goal and the follow-up owner knows what happened in class.
Sample language
“Coach, this is [name]. They’re here for [program] and are hoping to [goal]. After class I’ll meet you both here and help with the next step.”
Use this as a structure. Replace every bracketed field and follow the school’s approved terms and language.
Coaching points
- Share only context needed to serve the student.
- Name the post-class host before class starts.
- Ask the instructor for a concise observation, not a diagnosis or guaranteed outcome.
- Record attendance and the next action promptly.
Practice scenario
The normal enrollment staff member is leaving as the trial class ends and must hand off follow-up.
Role-play scorecard
- Transferred useful context
- Named the next owner
- Closed the loop after class
- Recorded the result
Apply it to real work
Own one trial from arrival through its documented next action.
Completion evidence: The trial timeline shows arrival, attendance, context, owner, and dated follow-up.
