People & access8 minute tutorial

Use the member and parent portal

Switch linked profiles, book selected classes, register for free events, view private-lesson credits, follow rank progress, and manage Stripe billing details.

Available now

This workflow is available in the live web product. Follow the documented data controls and keep appropriate operational backups.

Before you start

  • An accepted portal invitation.
  • A signed-in account using the invited email.
1

Open the secure web portal

Sign in and open the Member portal. If no profile appears, ask the school to send an invitation to the email on your account.

The portal is a responsive website. A native iOS or Android member app has not shipped.

Open Member portal
2

Switch between linked family profiles

When a parent has access to more than one member, profile buttons appear near the top. Choose a name to change the page.

Only profiles explicitly linked by the school are visible.

3

Review training information

Programs & rank progress shows the current rank, next rank, matching class count, and elapsed days. Upcoming schedule includes classes for active program enrollments.

Announcements posted by the school appear below the schedule.

4

Book an occurrence the school has opened

When staff open a future class occurrence, an eligible active member sees Book class. A successful reservation holds a capacity spot and any applicable weekly plan use.

Choose Cancel booking before class starts if plans change. Cancellation closes after check-in. The booking itself is not attendance; still check in at the school.

5

Register a linked profile for a free event

Events & seminars shows free events that the school opened for member registration, plus any future event for which the selected profile is already registered.

Choose Register while capacity remains and before the displayed cutoff. A portal-created free registration may also be cancelled before that cutoff.

Watch out: A priced event or a registration created by staff must be changed through the school. Online paid-event checkout has not shipped.
6

Review private-lesson credits and appointments

Private lessons shows remaining package credits and upcoming one-on-one appointments scheduled by the school.

Contact the school to buy a package or to schedule, reschedule, or cancel. Private-lesson checkout and member self-booking are not enabled.

7

Use the check-in code

Show the QR code at the school’s staff-operated kiosk. The code identifies the selected member for attendance.

The code does not sign anyone into the portal and should not be treated as an account password.

8

Manage a billed membership securely

If the selected member has Stripe billing history, choose Manage payment method & invoices in Membership & billing.

Dojo Wizard opens a short-lived, school-branded Stripe portal where the payer can update the saved payment method and view invoice history. Contact the school for plan changes, freezes, or cancellation.

Troubleshooting

If something looks wrong

Why is a class missing?

The portal shows upcoming sessions for active program enrollments. Ask the school to confirm the program enrollment, schedule, and location timezone.

Why can I see a class but not book it?

The occurrence may still be staff-managed, already started, full, outside the member’s program, or blocked by a weekly plan limit. Trial students can appear on eligible staff rosters but cannot self-book in this release.

Why can’t I cancel an event registration?

The cutoff may have passed, the event may have a price, or staff may have created the registration. Contact the school to make the change.

Can I edit contact details or payments?

Contact the school for member-record changes. For a Stripe-billed membership, use Manage payment method & invoices to update the card or view invoice history; contact the school for plan, freeze, or cancellation changes.
